Hello, my name is Charlene. I was born and raised in Taiwan and later moved to the United States to pursue higher education.
I graduated from UC Irvine with a Business Economics degree and attended Northwestern University’s MSC Program from 2021-2022.
Prior to coming to the MSC program, I was working as a marketing manager at Chun Place Shopping Mall and as a food blogger in Taiwan.
As a foodie, I started an Instagram food blog @taipeieater in 2016 to introduce the finest restaurants and food vendors in Taiwan.
It started out as a minor project but quickly turned into a serious business.
I have since collaborated with 700+ restaurants through various platforms to promote their brands, consulted restaurant groups on how to strategically engage with their audiences on social media, and hosted content marketing seminars in company training programs.
In less than four years, my platform accumulated 42K organic followers and has become one of the most recognized guides for both locals and tourists in Taiwan. I was featured in a book- GoodEye Taiwan, a magazine- River Magazine, and was featured in Tatler magazines as one of the top 5 most influential food bloggers during the pandemic.
In 2021, I collaborated with Harvard business school professor Lauren Huang to promote her book “Edge: turning adversity into advantage”, and hosted a successful food vendor fair in march that accumulated 5k people in attendance over two days.
I am an action-oriented, driven person who enjoys brainstorming and working with teams to turn fun ideas into reality!
